Coming to Indianapolis Sept. 26!

Apply to be a vendor or community partner at Poetry in Transit!
Poet Applications
Poetry in Transit is an event celebrating community connection–both social and mobile–through written & spoken word.
We’re seeking volunteer poets who are bus riders or who have benefitted from public transit to showcase 7-10 minutes of their written work, on a (stationary) bus.
Featured poems don’t have to be about the bus–you can write about walking, biking, rolling, taking the bus, your neighbors/neighborhood, Indianapolis history, or any themes & messages that you take from those modes of transportation or relationships.
Poet applications are now closed. Selected poets will be notified early August.
Vendor Applications
We’re also seeking artists, vendors, and community partners to be a part of the event at Indiana Humanities 1-4 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2026!
Free to apply and to table at the event. We are especially interested in artists, writers, zine-makers, creatives, and other vendors who feature a collaborative community activity (such as a collaborative poem, mural, or story collection exercise) at their booth in addition to selling their own materials. Plan to be outside on the lawn for the duration of the event, except in inclement weather (we’ll move indoors in that case).
Fill out the form to be considered to table / sell at Poetry in Transit!
